A Better Future For Young Children
Welcome to HOPE worldwide South Africa
At HOPE worldwide South Africa, our vision is to see a South Africa where every child gets the best possible start in life. As a non-profit organization dedicated to early childhood development (ECD), we focus on early learning, nutrition, and responsive parenting as essential building blocks for lifelong growth.
Our mission is to transform the lives of young and vulnerable children, their families, and communities through compassion, collaboration, and capacity-building. Central to our work is the Nurturing Care Framework, which emphasizes the importance of health, nutrition, safety, responsive caregiving, and early learning in a child’s earliest years.
By creating nurturing and playful environments and equipping families with the tools they need, we empower children to learn, grow, and thrive.
Every Child, Every Chance - Driving Possibilities in 2026
As we reflect on 2025, we’re filled with gratitude for what we’ve achieved in Early Childhood Development (ECD), child nutrition, and early learning across South Africa. Thanks to the dedication of our partners, donors, volunteers, and staff, 134,855 children received nurturing care, age-appropriate learning opportunities, and nutritious meals—laying the foundation for a brighter future.
From January to December 2025:
1,909 ECD Centres reached—spaces where children aged 0–6 grow, learn, and flourish. This includes centres in our HOPEww SA ECD Network (HEN), supported with training, resources, and mentorship, as well as partner centres working toward the same vision.
4,059,761 meals served through our nutrition partnerships with KFC Add Hope, PepsiCo, and their brand FUTURELIFE, Dis-Chem Foundation, Nivea, and Octodec—nourishing bodies so children can focus, grow, and dream.
Each number represents a child. A future. A story of hope. And while we celebrate this incredible impact, we know there are still too many children whose stories remain unheard and needs unmet.
We will not tire. We will not stop. And we hope you won’t either.
Whether you’ve been walking this journey with us or are just discovering our work, now is the time to stay connected, support ECD, and take your first step toward making a lasting difference.
Our Work
Thousands of young children in South Africa lack proper education, parenting, or nutrition. We’re here to change that.

ECD Centre Support
Children succeed when they learn and play in a safe, healthy, stimulating and nurturing environment. Millions of children across South Africa unfortunately don’t have access to good learning environments and resources in their early years, setting their development back. We supported Early Childhood Development(ECD) Centres to ensure that the children in their schools have the best learning experience they can…
Nutritional Support
Going to bed hungry is a tragic reality for countless children across South Africa. The malnutrition caused by this hinders their brain development and can lead to lifelong growth issues. To combat this, we provide nutritious food parcels to as many caregivers and preschools as we can possibly reach in order to make sure that these children have the energy to play with friends, the focus to learn in school and a good nights rest with a full tummy. We focus on getting everything every child deserves so that they can just focus on being kids…
Parent Support
Did you know that young children need at least 8 hugs a day? The home is the most influential learning and growing environment during a child’s earliest years. By starting in the home, we can create holistic change. Through our Parent Support Groups (PSG’s), We teach parents in disadvantaged communities who can’t afford to take their young children to school how to nurture, educate and stimulate their children from home…
