The HOPE worldwide SA Training Academy (HTA) helps professionalise the Early Childhood Development (ECD) sector by equipping practitioners with the skills they need to provide quality education and care. Aligned with the Department of Basic Education (DBE). HTA ensures that ECD professionals meet national standards.
Practitioners can earn ETDP-SETA accredited qualifications in FET ECD Practitioner NQF Levels 4 and 5 at an affordable cost. These qualifications prepare them to create engaging, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young children.
By making professional training more accessible, HTA strengthens the ECD sector and improves early learning outcomes for children across South Africa.

2. Who is eligible to apply?
Anyone passionate about Early Childhood Development, including aspiring and current ECD practitioners who meet the entry requirements for NQF Level 4 or 5.
3. What qualifications does HTA offer?
We offer ETDP-SETA accredited qualifications:
- NQF Level 4 – for individuals starting their ECD career.
- NQF Level 5 – for practitioners who want to further their expertise.
4. Is the qualification recognised nationally?
Yes, our NQF Level 4 and 5 qualifications are ETDP-SETA accredited and recognised across South Africa.

5. How do I apply?
Applications open in August 2025. A link to apply will be added as soon as applications are opened.
6. What documents do I need to apply?
- A certified copy of your ID or passport
- A certified copy of your highest qualification
- A completed application form
7. Is there an application fee?
No, there is no fee to apply. However, course fees apply upon acceptance.

8. How long does the course take?
- NQF Level 4: Approximately 12 months
- NQF Level 5: Approximately 25 months
9. What is the cost of the programme?
Level 4: The total cost is R16 020, which includes:
- R250 registration fee
- R2,670 deposit
- R1 335 monthly for 10 months
Level 5 Diploma: The total cost is R21 600, which includes:
- R250 registration fee
- R2,400 deposit
- R1 200Â monthly for 18 months
10. Are there payment plans or financial assistance options?
Unfortunately we do not offer financial assistance but accommodate allow monthly payment.

Learning & Assessment
11. Is the programme online or in-person?
The programme includes a mix of in-person training, 30% theory or contact sessions and 70% workplace practical work each month.
12. Where does the training take place?
Currently, HTA only takes place in the province of Limpopo. Location details will be provided upon enrolment.

13. What can I do with my qualification?
You can work as an ECD practitioner, start your own daycare centre, or continue studying in the ECD field.
14. Will I receive a certificate after completing the programme?
Yes, graduates will receive evidence of results and an ETDP-SETA accredited certificate.
15. Does HTA help with job placement?
While we don’t guarantee job placements, we can connect graduates with opportunities in the ECD sector.
