We were honoured to host members of the KFC Global Lead Team on a special visit to El Shaddai Day Care Centre—one of the many ECD centres supported through our 13-year partnership with KFC Add Hope.
Among the distinguished guests were Scott Mezvinsky, Chief Executive Officer (KFC Global), Judd Knight, Chief Digital & Technology Officer (KFC Global), both part of the Yum Restaurants International, as well as the KFC Africa Leadership Team. Their visit was a powerful affirmation of the shared commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children across South Africa.
As part of their visit, the KFC team presented El Shaddai with a R25,000 cheque—a generous award to recognise and strengthen the school’s continued investment in the children within their community.
Thanks to the support, the centre has been able to provide daily meals and channel resources toward critical improvements, such as safe flooring and kitchen expansions—creating a more dignified and nurturing learning environment.
In many under-resourced communities, the situation remains dire. Some centres operate on rotating meal schedules, and mothers often struggle with impossible choices, such as choosing between food or diapers.
This visit was a celebration of what is possible when purpose meets partnership. We are deeply grateful to KFC Add Hope and the Global Lead Team for walking alongside us in the mission to give every child the best possible start to life.
