After four impactful years, we celebrate the remarkable success of the ‘Caregiver Learning Through Play’ (CLTP) programme, which has reached over 451,000 parents and caregivers and benefited an estimated 542,000 children across South Africa.
This groundbreaking initiative, one of the largest ECD parenting programmes in the country, was made possible by the generous support of the LEGO Foundation and the dedicated partnership of HOPE worldwide SA, Save the Children South Africa, Ntataise Trust, and the Early Learning Resource Unit (ELRU). Together, we pursued a shared vision: to empower parents and caregivers with the knowledge and skills to create responsive, play-filled home environments that nurture young children’s growth and development.
The programme’s success was further amplified through critical support from the Department of Basic Education (DBE), which integrated elements of the training into the National Parenting Programme, and from UNICEF South Africa, whose contributions extended its reach and impact.
CLTP has not only transformed parenting practices but has also left a lasting legacy, firmly embedding the importance of play-based learning in early childhood development. This foundation will continue to shape the lives of children and families across South Africa for generations to come.
As this incredible programme comes to a close, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to every partner, donor, and team member who contributed to this journey. Together, we have changed the trajectory of countless young lives, creating a brighter future filled with hope, learning, and play.
Thank you for being part of this transformative story.
