Consider this – the future success of every child is in many ways determined by the age of 6!
Decades of research have found that the first few years of life are a time of incredible growth and learning. This is when the brain develops at its fastest. When children get the right nurturing, nutrition and stimulation, they thrive.
The sad reality is that millions of young children in South Africa are denied their potential because of poverty. There are 2.4 million children in the country who have been orphaned due to losing their parents and caregivers to HIV. Additionally, 27% of the country’s children under the age of five are stunted from malnutrition and do not have access to preschools. Tragically, the death rate of our nation’s children under-five is high as well. This does not impact the child alone but the nation as a whole.
HOPE worldwide South Africa (HWSA) is committed to giving young, vulnerable children the best possible start in life. We are doing this by supporting and equipping hundreds of preschools and thousands of parents and caregivers in disadvantaged communities across seven provinces. Over 20 000 children are being reached on a monthly basis through a range of services.
Heroes4Hope (H4H) is an initiative that allows you to become a hero for disadvantaged children.
HOPEworldwide currently runs educational, nutritional, and other crucial programs vital to Early Childhood Development (ECD). By supporting us and donating
from as little as R100 per month or giving a once-off donation using the snap scan code, you could provide holistic improvements to a child’s life.
Let’s work together to change lives and make a lasting difference.
