Makro staff joyfully delivered lunch and goodies to the kids in our ECD centres in the Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo province and Eastern Cape. Staff in the Free State Province brought all the fun to our centres via a fierce cooking competition among themselves for the kids’ benefit. The kids in the Western Cape spread the love by giving the people in the community of Elsies River sandwiches.
Following the legacy of Nelson Mandela the theme in KZN was helping families build stronger connections. We had a guest speaker, who is affiliated with FAMSA, engage with the parents whilst the children enjoyed outdoor activities such as face painting, colouring in a Nelson Mandela image.
Also, a company called Flynn Jaxon that sells children apparel donated beanies, rompers, t-shirts and dresses for the kids and families. On Friday, in honour of Nelson Mandela, the Massmart staff set up an amazing workstation at their offices where staff got to hand make beautiful coloured and painted bookshelves.
Massmart also provided books to fill the bookshelves for 10 of our ECD centres in the Gauteng province. We are grateful to all who brought hope and joy to our beneficiaries in honour of Nelson Mandela.
Together, may we continue to spread hope to the young and vulnerable children.
